IT'S A CURIOUS thing - LIFE...

I've had a very interesting life, and it just seems to get better and better...

I have worked as a journalist, filmmaker, educator, leader and more.  My life has not been a straight path, but I have found learning in every twist and turn it's taken.  My path has at times been very difficult, but every person whose path I've crossed has taught me something.

These days my mantra is 'cool things with cool people.'  Just turned 50, and as a friend keeps reminding me - we're not getting any younger.  He keeps saying we gotta move, gotta make the most of the time we have left.

He's got a point - but at the same time, I feel like some of the best parts of my life are just beginning.  I know I certainly treasure more now the great people around me, supporting me, encouraging me - than I did when I was younger.

Back then I was so busy - kids, life, learning.  But all along it was like there was an invisible hand - leading me somewhere.

I have another friend who swings back and forth, back and forth between working feverishly to make the world a better place, and despairing how the future will turn out.  One of my favourite sources of inspiration - and comfort - is a quote by Arudhati Roy.

It is easy to lose hope, but really what is the alternative if not to have hope.  My goal these days is to work with people who share the same goals and values as I do.  People who want to make the world a better place, and be good human beings.

To that end, I've asked some people I've worked with to share what they thought of working with me.  I'd also like you to know that I'm a mum, a dreamer who asks a lot of questions, creative, ambitious and very entrepreneurial.

If you are someone who also wants to make the world a better place, then I'd love to hear from you.  I'd love to have a coffee and a chat, and - stealing from another friend - see what kind of 'creative mischief' we could get up to that maybe - just maybe - could change the world.
