Principal Consultant, Facilitator and Coach, Laurie Cook has years of experience in adult education, non-profit management, strategic planning, and community development.

She first moved to Musquodoboit Harbour - a small village just east of Halifax - in '92.  She fell in love with the countryside and the area's potential.  She was soon involved with the local community association, and then also chaired and facilitated the community's first visioning initiative.

During the community visioning process, many people were concerned the vision would just be another planning document that would just sit on a shelf somewhere and collect dust. As Chair of the process, Laurie took that concern to heart and since the consultation phase finished, she has worked consistently to see various ideas realized.
To further help her community, and to better understand how to turn ideas into action, Laurie did a Masters in Adult Education specializing in Community Development at St. Francis Xavier University.

Since then, she has been involved as Co-Founder or Chair of several local community organizations, worked with HRM as a Community Developer and with the Community Sector Council of Nova Scotia as Regional Convenor for the Halifax area.  She is also Member Liaison for the Atlantic Region for the Canadian Community Economic Development Network (CCED-NET), and a member of the Neighbourhood Council of the United Way of Halifax.
